Handicap Knockout Competition
A handicap is applied that depends on the grading difference between the players. The stronger player is allocated 45 minutes minus the handicap (subject to a minimum of 5 minutes); the weaker player is allocated 45 minutes plus the handicap (subject to a maximum of 85 minutes).
Grades used are the ELO grades determined by the ECF at the start of the season (August values). Ungraded players will be allocated an estimated grade which may be updated during the season. The handicap is determined as the grade difference divided by 10 and rounded up to the nearest number.
Knockout games are not eligible for grading. This competition starts from January 2025.
