Welcome to Dorchester Chess Club
Dorchester Chess Club meets every Thursday from September to April inclusive at 7.15pm in the Colliton Club, Dorchester, DT1 1XJ.
Players of all standards are welcome. We currently hold a club championship that runs throughout the season, a handicap knockout tournament and a quick play tournament that are open to all club members.
In addition we run four teams in the Dorset League, enter one team in the Dorset Handicap Tournament and run our own Jamboree tournament where we invite in the region of 6 other clubs to compete to win the Jamboree trophy.
In the latest 2010/11 season the Dorchester Club finished 2nd in the Dorset League One, 1st in Dorset League Two, 4th in Dorset League Three and 1st in Dorset League 4.
The 2011 Annual General Meeting took place on Thursday 8th September as the opening night of the new chess season.
